I was born in West Texas but got to College Station as fast as I could. I spent countless weekends as a kid watching Aggie football and listening to games on the radio pretending to be the announcer. I grew up close to the University and when the wind blew just right I could hear the Aggie Band in the distance, practicing for the upcoming game. I graduated from A&M Consolidated HS in 1977 and worked many jobs to pay my way through school. The most rewarding jobs were drawing sports and political cartoons for both the Battalion and The Eagle newspapers and working as a student assistant for the TAMU Sports Information Dept in 1981. I received a B.S. degree in Journalism from Texas A&M University in 1985 and married Janet Hager of Bryan, Texas. Not long after marriage, the kids began arriving so I gave up my ink and paper to concentrate on raising a family. While working in the Home-building and remodeling business for the past 23 years, I never gave up the dream of resurrecting my Aggie sports art. Only recently have I started drawing and painting again. Janet and I have two wonderful children, Ashley and Colton and live College Station.
