Jerry Bullitt and Ken Reeves; Aggie Picture Day 1983 Kyle Field

Okay, some of the pictures here are just photos from the past. Linebacker Jerry Bullitt and O-lineman Ken Reeves of Texas A&M were proud to wear the maroon and white.

Texas A&M Throwback Helmets, 2009

In 2009, throwback uniforms were worn by many teams including Texas A&M. The Aggies wore their white football helmets of the seventies against the University of Arkansas in Cowboy Stadium. After getting manhandled in the second half, most fans were thinking the helmets brought back those bad memories of that era and were ready to get rid of them. Again! I certainly was. In this cartoon I drew former President George H. W. Bush stacking the helmets into a wedding cake design symbolizing the Aggie Bonfire. When finished, Bush called it his 100 (one hundred helmets instead of 1000) points of light. The top of stack was adorned with an old sixties style t.u. throwback helmet instead of an outhouse. Aggie Coach Mike Sherman had a torch (match) ready to light 'em up. Guess he didn't like them either!
